Thanks for the quick reply -- I was unable to reproduce this after a
number of tests.

The inotify error makes much more sense as out of watches. I think this
was likely due to CrashPlan running on the machine, combined with some
mount --bind mappings.

I'll post those diagnostic results if I see this error again.
