Public bug reported:

After upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 the tray icon of Goldendict does not
work within xfce, whereas it previously appeared.  There is no tray
icon, even though "close to system tray" is checked in preferences.
When I choose "File/Close to tray" it closes but there is not icon in
the top panel of xfce.
