Public bug reported:

Hi. I tried to install on a new Toshiba Satellite P55-A5312 along side a
pre-installed Windows 8.

With Secure Boot and UEFI enabled, it booted to Windows and I got:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/7340996/

With Secure Boot disabled and UEFI enabled, it booted to Windows and I got:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/7341506/

It successfully installed with both Secure Boot and UEFI disabled
(although I have to switch between enable/disable UEFI in the BIOS to
switch between Windows and Ubuntu).

I sent this info to The Boot Repair Team and they said

"What you describe is a bug of the Ubuntu installer (called "Ubiquity").
Please report the bug at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+filebug";

I have moved on but I'm submitting this info in case it helps improve
Ubiquity for future use.

Thanks!
Zac
