Public bug reported:
The error appears after a second try of Preview or scan with an EPSON DS-510
and Xsane 0.998. At the first try, Xsane returns this message:
It has not been possible to start the scaner. I/O device error.
After the second try, Xsane breaks and the terminal returns this missage:
xsane: handle.cpp:788: std::streamsize sane::handle::start(): Assertion
«!work_in_progress_» failed.
I've tested the frontend provided by the EPSON driver: imagescan, and it works
right, and scaning through the command interface works right too:
scanimage -d
imagescan:usb:esci:/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:0b.0/usb1/1-1/1-1:1.0
--format=tiff > output.tif
For this reason, I've rejected a problem in the backend.
Installing the previous version of Xsane (0.996) from the Ubuntu 10.04 packages
it works right too.
Please, if you need additional information let me know.
