Public bug reported:
In terminal "killall xfce4-panel"
Then type xfrun4 (or press Alt+F2) and run xfce4-panel.
Then click Applications > Quit, you get dialog
"Unable to quit session.
Quitting the session requires that Xfce's session manager (xfce4-session) is
running, but it was not detected. Please quit Xfce via another means."
This is instead of running the End Session dialog.
Click Close. Then click quit icon (that has red arrow) icon in the
panel. It asks "Exit Xfce Panel?" instead of running the End Session
dialog.
However, if you restarted the panel by command xfce4-panel in terminal,
the quit functions normally.
** Affects: Ubuntu
Importance: Untriaged
Status: Unconfirmed
