I downloaded and re-installed 14.04 with the same result, so I went back to 12.04 and everything is working great. My system is only a few months old and has all the latest bells and whistles, so I know it's not a problem with antiquated hardware. Plus, it works great with Windows 7 and 8. I found 12.04 very stable but no where as fast as 10.04 (Unity desktop?). I'm seriously thinking about going back to Windows as it is far more stable and faster than 14.04 LTS on my machine."</i> http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/ubuntu-63/ubuntu-10-04lts-to-12 -04lts-upgrade-or-install-4175502041/ Allen did not disclose the nature of his computer in his post. All that I can say is that he had the same symptoms that I did. Whether others also have this issue, I do not know. Consequently, I do not know if this is a significant bug or not. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1312954 Title: Installation of Ubuntu 14.04 Failed on an Ahthon 64 Dual Core To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1312954/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
