Same thing here while trying to format a USB thumbdrive in trusty. Looks very similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udisks/+bug/1059872 and, like the latter, could be one of the many symptoms of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/util-linux/+bug/1012081 (ancient util-linux in Debian/Ubuntu).
A workaround is to use gparted to format the target disk to fat32. (The Disks utility won't work either, see those other bugs.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311424 Title: Startup Disk Creator dont erase pen drive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-creator/+bug/1311424/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
