Public bug reported:

My apps were in the Dash yesterday. Today they are not. It's possible that they
disappeared after a Software Update. It doesn't matter if Applicaions are
highlighted or not in Categories or Sources. I've tried removing & reinstalling
unity-lens-applications package but to no effect.
PS I've verified that the desktop files are still in /usr/share/applications
