I agree that my problem is probably related to Bug #88152. I am not sure, however, that it is a duplicate.
I have experienced exactly the problems reported in Bug #88152. The symptoms of this new problem are different: Until I have KDE and Compiz stabilized, I am using the stock background and no wallpaper. When I log out (or try to bomb out with Ctrl-Alt- Backspace), any open windows plus that part of the taskbar which listed open applications changes colour to a paler blue or white. The remainder of the desktop is painted with the default Kubuntu background. At this point, the desktop is frozen hard: no keyboard, no mouse. ** Summary changed: - KDE with Compiz and nVidia crashes hard on session log-out on an p-to-date Gutsy Gibbon + KDE with Compiz and nVidia crashes hard on session log-out on an up-to-date Gutsy Gibbon -- KDE with Compiz and nVidia crashes hard on session log-out on an up-to-date Gutsy Gibbon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135412 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
