Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nfs-kernel-server
It seems that rebooting the nfs-server (my desktop) and then trying to access
the share on the nfs-client (home server) hangs when my machine is down which
makes sence until after, when bringing the nfs-server back up.
The shares then show as mounted via df on the client with a lot of - - - -
preceding the mount points and an ls of the mount point itself reads: Stale NFS
Handler.
The expected behaviour I'm told is that it should resume nicely once the
nfs server is back up.
Steps to reproduce:
Take the nfs-server machine down and have the client try to access the
share while it's down, then bring the nfs server machine back up.
It doesn't seem to occur unless the client actually tries to access the
share while the server is down.
Ubuntu 7.04 on both the client and server both up to date as of this post.
Client 64bit AMD, Server i386 Intel.
