For the record, no one's been advised to remove PulseAudio for years, not since the audio rewrite in 2011. The Sound wiki page explicitly advises against removing it, and that page is where I refer users to if the problem is not something obvious (e.g., user is missing 32 bit alsa- plugins). I have certainly never "mocked" anyone for using PulseAudio: I happen to use it myself.
