gstreamer0.10 and 1.0 are not interchangeable. You can't just change the
dependencies to gstreamer1.0 and expect the program to work. The PPA you
cite added gstreamer1.0 dependencies, but it kept the python-gst0.10
dependency (which pulled the other gstreamer0.10 dependencies that were
removed).

Basically, the PPA didn't change anything (other than adding unused
gstreamer1.0 dependencies).

gstreamer0.10 is still available in trusty, so radiotray will probably
not be altered there unless it's an issue worthy of SRU. Removing trusty
tag..
