This is the current default dput.cf:

login = anonymous
for sftp you need:
[ubuntu]
fqdn = upload.ubuntu.com
method = sftp
incoming = ubuntu
login = (launchpad nick)
The default dput.cf should make itself more amenable to the latter, as
