Yes. I have been looking into this bug over last few days.

Attaching a patch which works for me.

You can run following commands to try:
apt-src install compiz
(cd to compiz dir create0
(set your ~/.quiltrc as usual)
quilt push -a
quilt import /path/to/settings_reset_fix
dpkg-buildpackage
