This is definitely a bug...I upgraded my 12.10 to 14.04 and suddenly had this problem with grub_term_highlight_color. I still get the option to choose win7 or Linux when my desktop boots (and if i choose win 7 it boots fine), but if i choose linux then i get that error which leads me to grub rescue. What can i do to fix this? I have made a bootable usb with SGD2, will it help? Or should i run a 14.04 from USB and fix the grub from there??
It's weird that the upgrade seriously messes things up like that...I mean i did not touch any thing, except pressing that "upgrade" button :-/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1289977 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 Update breaks grub, resulting in "error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1289977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
