In my particular case, i installed the nvidia driver off the nvidia site, and everything was good for about a week. I then experienced the blurry text yesterday.
I searched the sites and what i read ranged from reboot to remove and re-install unity. That seemed extreme, so logged out of unity and logged in as guest. The screens were as crisp as they once were. It is a profile issue. I attempted to find the culprit and what i found is the nvida-settings file. it is either "corrupted" or has some odd information in it causing the text to display as blurry. I found an article (can't remember where) that said it was a H sync scan rate issue within the file. I tried disabling the FXAA fix but it didn't work for me. you find it by doing a ls -al (it shows the hidden files/directories) All I did was find the nvida-settings file and deleted it. Log out and log back in, and all should be good. The file gets recreated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1307236 Title: NVidia Issues - blurry text after upgrading from 13.10 to 14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-settings/+bug/1307236/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
