** Description changed:

I have a dual booted chromebook (chromeos and ubuntu 13.10).

I updated my chromebook and my audio stopped working when I boot into
the linux os. I don't know if that is the cause.

- I have been through the sound debugging page and i think i have isolated
- the problem to be the modules. When I run find /lib/modules/`uname -r` |
- grep snd, I get a readout that cannot find that directory or files.
-
- When I try to install, however, using:
-
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-$(uname -r)
-
- or
-
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-generic
-
- I get a readout that a package of that name cannot be found.
+ I have run through all the commands for troubleshooting the audio
+ failure and I have gotten the expected readouts.

I don't know what to do next.
-

Thanks in advance for the help,

  Chukleberryfinn
