The Linux Mint version used when I discovered this bug was: Linux Mint 17 RC
Cinnamon 64-bit (Updated to 22-05-2014)
When the Nikon Coolpix S6500 is connected to the laptop with the provided USB
cable nothing seems to happen.
When I checked the lsusb command I found out that the camera was detected as
plugged in because the list showed a "Nikon Corp." device.
What I did after was a dmesg command which showed the moment the device was
plugged in and that the mode the camera was connected in was PTP mode. So in my
opinion the camera, and the libgphoto2 drivers seem to work okay.
What I would have expected was a pop-up which asks me what I want to do with
the contents of the camera.
This problem continuisly occurs on my laptop.
When additional information is needed I will be happy to provide everything
thats needed.
