BIOS has now been updated
# sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2.1c
04/22/2014

I've been able to reproduce the problem using a fresh Windows 2008R2
server image. The guest functions correctly for a period of time then
starts to 'freeze' for around 10 seconds every 5-20 seconds. While
frozen the CPU usage of QEMU jumps to around 105%.

Attached is the updated perf record.
