Hello, I have reviewed bugs similar to this one on launchpad: it usually caused by additional ppas (like xorg-edgers-ppa in bug 1309484).
This doesn't apply in my case. When I review the logs, it seems ubuntu-desktop version is frozen, but this must be done during the upgrade process, since it doesn't appear in such a state when I open synaptic. I don't know how to solve this. Is there a way to diagnose the bug more precisely? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
