I agree about putting up a status page somewhere. The wiki would work nicely.
This way we can have a link to the code for the driver and direct indicators of what needs to be improved. Also, I don't want to start another flame war, but I'm thinking the driver MIGHT be ready to have a tag in the bug database. This might be a good policy for all unofficial branches. Specifically, they should change the request that any bug that is verified to be caused by the PulseAudio driver (i.e. it goes away when mapping through ALSA).
