Here are the steps I took to reproduce this:

1. Freshly bootstrap my mako (eg, wipe all existing accounts & friends
state)

2. Launch friends, confirm "no accounts configured"

3. Add a twitter account

4. switch back to the still-running friends process, and it still says
"no accounts configured". This part was somewhat expected

5. close & reopen friends

6. it *still* says "no accounts configured" -- this part surprised me. I
thought after restarting friends it would see the twitter account
configured.

7. I clicked the twitter button and was prompted to authorize friends to
access my twitter account. I clicked "accept" and was the taken to the
timeline, where messages slowly started to trickle in.
