The hint /sbin/unix_chkpwd leadead me to Bug #353356, where I found the
solution.
SOLUTION:
chown root:shadow /sbin/unix_chkpwd
chmod 2755 /sbin/unix_chkpwd
chown root:shadow /etc/shadow
