Setting vga=795 unfortunately doesn't help. I also tried some tips in Bug #32389 - uninstalling usplash and setting vga=normal but nothing helped. But it seems this bug isn't the problem in Bug #32389 - on my PC Ctrl+Alt+F1 works fine. Also after I switch to another user and the screen goes black a strange beep sequence (which is a fragment of a second long) gets out of the PC case.
