I have a manual ipv6 6to4 interface and a script to configure it, to be run when a real-IPv4 interface is brought up. And yes, with Ubuntu 14.04, 'ifup -vtun6to4' starts only if-pre-up.d scripts but not if-up.d then it tries to set non-existing iface 'tun6to4' link up and fails.
