Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
Normally this computer suspends and resumes perfectly, but a bad suspend
under Gutsy generated a popup saying that the computer had failed to
suspend. I chose to not get future messages, since everything appeared
fine. Then I noticed an icon in the system tray named suspend. I right
clicked and tried to open the preferences but nothing loaded. Then I
noticed that the network wasn't reconnecting. The interface was missing
from both Network Manager and the Network configuration applet. Since
then I haven't had the option of hibernating offered in the shutdown
menu.
** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
--
Semi-failed suspend generated error and a system tray icon called "suspend,"
killed networking and eliminated hibernate option.
