But I use Xgl and don't get this. I'd say it's because you use the fglrx
driver and I use the nvidia one but I don't really see how that would
make a difference. I mean, this animation is lightning fast when done in
software so having Xgl use OpenGL to do it should at worst make it
slightly slower. I suppose it could be some weird edge case in the fglrx
driver no one ever thought to test. What kind of slowdown are you
talking about? Two times slower than without Xgl? Ten times?
