Hello again, to report "cache misses", we would have to start tracking which pages we ever rendered independently of the cache and we would need some heuristic to decide when a miss is normal (we just dropped it because we had other stuff to render and cache) or notable because it happens too often. (And would also need to be configurable because limited configurations might never really cache anything and need to disable the message.)
However, Benjamin and I discussed this, and he will probably carry a patch in the Debian and hence Ubuntu packages that we set the default cache size to something like 5% of the physical memory instead of the fixed 32 MB which shoudl somewhat alleviate the problem for new users. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1331689 Title: Completely unusable with large heavy documents To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/qpdfview/+bug/1331689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
