Hi Christopher, first i recommend to remove the Gigabyte mainboard from the title, because it does not cause the issue. My network interface card is a TP-LINK WND4800, which is connected via a PCI Express slot, so it is an external device.
Second i do not fully understand your recommended approach. I installed the mainline 3.16 rc before and had no problems with my network. But i had problems with my graphics card or graphics driver. It seems that the failure is produced by the current customized Ubuntu kernel 3.13, because using the older 3.11 kernel everything worked fine and with the newer mainline upstream kernel 3.16 everything works fine again. I would like to understand why i should install mainline kernels that are not compiled with additional drivers etc. which makes problems with my graphics. It would make more sense to me to install precompiled kernel builds that are already customized for Ubuntu, containing all drivers etc. and to find the last working Ubuntu kernel. If i find the first failing kernel then i can do a reverse bisect. Do you have a list of older kernels or older release candidates for me that i could install? Do you agree with my approach? Or did i misunderstand something? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1331860 Title: [Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3] wireless lags To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1331860/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
