Public bug reported:

Expected: Hopefully be able to use the Ubuntu tablet interface on my laptop,
after choosing "Ubuntu Mobile" session instead of "Ubuntu Desktop" session on
the login screen.
What Happened: Could not log in to mobile session; After restarting, am stuck
with a blank purple screen after the initial GRUB screen.

I installed packagekit and ubuntu-touch on my ASUS touchscreen laptop,
hoping to check it out the Ubuntu tablet interface and get better use
out of my touchscreen.

I knew that I hadn't done the necessary research and that an outcome
like this was a distinct possibility, and so I didn't lose anything I
wasn't prepared to. But still... I'm pretty sure this counts as a bug.
Installing a package shouldn't be able to break your system and render
it incapable of booting.

Ubuntu 14.04
