I'm using Ubuntu 14.10 dev with vlc-nox 2.1.4-1 and one dependency of
vlc-nox is "libavcodec54 (>= 6:9.1-1) | libavcodec-extra-54 (>= 6:9.13)"
but removing libavcodec-extra-54 will also remove vlc-nox:
