Actually, seems like it already went upstream
(http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/g … 4b3d69e15d) and the new alsa
just got merged (http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/g … ;a=summary)!

It would be just VERY GOOD now if the kernel and alsa packages are
updated on gutsy! The new kernel is reported to work with this codec on
Arch linux (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=275445). That
might be a good starting point!
