This is really unlickely a boinc bug, rather a dpkg one (or linux one). I have the same configuration as you, and I never faced such a problem, and neither I ever saw this kind of bug on boinc.
I would like if possible to have more informations about your system, if it was up-to-date prior to install boinc, and all the information that might help fixing the issue.
