Public bug reported:
After installing gdm, selecting it as the display manager and rebooting,
after X loads(I can see the Ubuntu splash screen for a bried second) the
laptop screen powers down. I can switch to a different tty and it powers
back up and I can login to that tty. If I dock my laptop(lenovo t530)
the external displays work with gdm as the display manager but the
laptop monitor still powers down.
