K/X/Ubuntu Gutsy 5 Alternative Command-line system fails to install on a
Dell Latitude C840 Laptop.
Whilst the install process appears to work fine,
After the reboot, the system stalls at
* Running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local? [ OK ]
Shutting down by holding the power button works properly; there are the
usual shutdown messages.
