That fixed for me too dconf org>gnome>desktop>remote access.
Wow, 14.04 was brutal for me - I spent all day get ssh,samba and vnc to work.
Mostly because I thought I had these things down, but stuff got changed.
This one had me pounding the keyboard :-)...
