The debian memory leak bug is unlikely to be related to this bug.  If
you're seeing that symptom then please ping that bug, or open a bug on
launchpad about it.

this particular bug I have not seen in a long time.  If you are seeing
it, please reply and let's try to use valgrind to find the memory leak.
