The 2G/3G indicator exists, so let's try to figure out if this a bug or a misunderstanding.
* The indicators are specified at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Networking#Network_menu_.28all_form_factors.29 , I haven't seen all of the different cases but certainly these: - WiFi icon if WiFi is enabled - 3G icon if no WiFi but mobile data connection in 3G cellular radio network - 2G icon if no WiFi but mobile data connection in 2G cellular radio network. * If you want to know what happens in the modem level, leave '/usr/share/ofono/scripts/monitor-ofono' running in a shell (also works in the Ubuntu Touch Terminal app), and look out for these signals: Network registration status (registered, searching, roaming): {NetworkRegistration} [/ril_0] Status = ... Network registration in 2G (gsm) or 3G (umts): {NetworkRegistration} [/ril_0] Technology = ... Mobile data connection active or not (True/False) {ConnectionContext} [/ril_0/context1] Active = * If you see the modem properties change but the UI not, this is a valid indicator-network bug. Renato, can you check these? Can you also provide some details on the used SW, HW, and SIM card? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1336433 Title: Network data signal does not show information about 3g or 2g To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-network/+bug/1336433/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
