Are you trying to get sound out of speakers and headphones at the same
time? If so, you could probably achieve that by disabling automute in
alsamixer:
Simple mixer control 'Auto-Mute Mode',0
Capabilities: enum
Items: 'Disabled' 'Enabled'
Item0: 'Enabled'
