Do you have "allow-hotplug" in your /etc/network/interfaces for the interface 
you use ?
If yes, the interface maybe be not ready when sslh start and then fail to start 
with an non-existent address. Upstream add in 1.16 version the possibility to 
listen on an not yet existing address (IP_FREEBIND). You can just replace 
allow-hotplug by auto and restart to see if this is the issue.
