OK, learning by doing. Just broke my system (only black blank screen, no login possible). Removing all the drivers was not a good idea. I had to go to recovery mode, and install the graphics stack for the LTS-Trusty:
sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-trusty xserver-xorg-lts-trusty libglapi-mesa-lts-trusty Now, I am back! :-) However, I saw that apt-get removed Google-Earth (why?), and during the installations of the kernal packages I noticed an error message from VirtualBox. I haven't tested it yet, but I assume that VirtualBox is broken after moving to the Trusty kernal for 12.04. This also happend when the first HWE stack was introduced. Advice: anyone depending on Vbox should postone the uptrade to Trusty- LTS HWE. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1340613 Title: HWE upgrade not working in 12.04 due to missing packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1340613/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
