Public bug reported: Since 13.10 I was having a problem with autosuspend when using gnome- shell. The computer would have a notification on the screen saying the computer was about to suspend, but it would never suspend. After much searching, I found this bug on the gnome bug tracker (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=712706).
This patch https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=271468 fixes the problem on gnome-shell 3.12, but it includes changes to C source code. I thrifted the patch to only fix the offending javascript code, and autosuspend is restored. I think this bug is related to the same problem. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1232454 ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: suspend ** Patch added: "Fixes screenshield javascript to restore autosuspend" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1345116/+attachment/4157288/+files/ScreenShield-send-a-signal-to-GSD-to-wake-up-the-s.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1345116 Title: Computer fails to autosuspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1345116/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
