Public bug reported: Hardware: AMD Turion 64 ML-32 (1.8GHz, 512kB L2) 512MB (256MBx2) DDR 333MHz ATI Mobility RADEON EXPRESS 200M Gigabit Ethernet (Broadcom Netlink) Wireless 802.11g/b (Broadcom, Mini-PCI)
The Desktop CD's will boot and I will get the orange background of Ubuntu, but the screen will flash to black then back to orange. This seems to loop. The x64 desktop CD will actually display a gnome settings daemon window, but it disappears quickly. i386 does not display that error. I have had issues in the past (Feisty) where noapic added to the boot line would "fix" boot issues with the CD's but that doesn't help here. The Alt CD's would only get to a black screen with: "Kernel Alive Kernel direct mapping tables up to 100000000 @ 8000-d000" There it hangs. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Install - Tribe 5 CD's won't get to install GUI or Text based, x64 or i386 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136709 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
