Was able to boot with upstart and then reinstalled cgmanager
successfully.  Indeed can't boot with the systemd option any more.  When
booting with upstart see a cgmanager message flash by.  Here is the
contents of the cgmanager.log file;

cgmanager: Invalid path /run/cgmanager/fs/none,name=systemd///user (No such 
file or directory)
cgmanager:list_children_main: Could not determine the requested cgroup
cgmanager:get_pid_cgroup_main: Could not determine the requestor cgroup
cgmanager:get_pid_cgroup_main: Could not determine the requestor cgroup
cgmanager:get_pid_cgroup_main: Could not determine the requestor cgroup
cgmanager:get_pid_cgroup_main: Could not determine the requestor cgroup
cgmanager:do_remove_main: call to recursive_rmdir failed for 
/run/cgmanager/fs/blkio/user/1000.user/c2.session
cgmanager: Invalid path /run/cgmanager/fs/none,name=systemd///user (No such

As to the problem creating USB startup I thing was caused by an added
USB port card.  Removed the card (now max out on USB ports) and able
create a startup memory stick.  Still think it's time to rebuild this
system with the latest daily build and will do so today.
