AFAIK, Benjamin has been in touch with the Unity API guys, and IIRC
there were a few challenges with running scopes on the phone, such as
scopes being killed after a period of inactivity without any feedback to
QtC. For some of these challenges, we might need to find workarounds.
Some of my recommendations would be:
- Scope wizard to present the following message:
"We recommend Ubuntu 14.10 or later to develop scopes. If you are using Ubuntu
14.04 LTS, some functionality, such as launching scopes on the desktop, will
not be available. Installing scopes on a device or on the emulator is however
supported for 14.04 LTS and later."
- Either block desktop-based targets from being selected when creating a new
scope project in 14.04 (not sure if it's possible), or make the Play (Ctrl+R)
button display the message above.
- Provide a target to build and install a click package on the device/emulator
- Assess what possibilities we have to provide a target that does the click
install and runs the scope on the device/emulator
