Public bug reported:

>lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Release: 14.04

>apt-cache policy synaptic
synaptic:
  Installed: 0.81.1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 0.81.1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 0.81.1ubuntu1 0
        500 http://mx.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/universe amd64
Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     0.81.1 0
        500 http://mx.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/universe amd64 Packages

While viewing the dependencies of a packe selected for install, the
names of the packages previously displayed (now in background) seem to
be the same of the unfiltered list. Once the dependencies window is
closed, the names get fixed.

For example, if we search in the quick filter for "VLC" and select the
main VLC package for install. Same happened with "fretsonfire", the
number of the packages stays the same, but their names change to the
same as the unfiltered list.

** Affects: synaptic (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Attachment added: "The error."
