That's not what I said at all. I said it isn't critical for an initial
release, given that (according to you) NetworkManager isn't good enough
to make it easy to implement. But the term "unnecessary" isn't a
sensible term in this context; Ubuntu as a whole is unnecessary, but
here we are anyway. ;-)
The use case for this feature is that you are notified of a password
change when the Wi-Fi network is not in range. For example, while on a
business trip you receive e-mail telling you that the key for the office
Wi-Fi network has changed.
