I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with Shutter 0.91 Rev.1264: Shutter crashes on "edit" for me with Numix-Circle, Numix-Bevel and Numix icon themes as well as with HighContrast (coming with Ubuntu). All the other icon themes on my machine do not prompt Shutter to crash on "edit".
One more aspect: This applies as well when Shutter is already running; whichever icon theme is selected right before pressing "edit" determines whether Shutter will crash or not. I hope that this is helpful.
