I believe this error FATAL: cannot locate cpu MHz in /proc/cpuinfo
is related to the Jack Library and I believe it is fixed in the latest source by this checkin: https://github.com/jackaudio/jack2/commit/d425d8035b761b4a362c538c41eca874ff4995f0 So, I think updating the jackd library would fix the problem for Audacity. I haven't tested Audacity myself, but I did test another audio library Supercollider which had the same error until I installed my own compiled version of jack. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1347914 Title: Audacity crashes on startup while trying to read /proc/cpuinfo To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/audacity/+bug/1347914/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
