@Gunnar, It looks good to me.

On writbale-iamge, I installed fonts-takao-pgothic and rebooted it:
$ sudo lsof -p `pidof unity8` | grep font
unity8  2622 phablet  mem    REG        7,0   353824  83820
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu-font-family/Ubuntu-R.ttf
unity8  2622 phablet  mem    REG        7,0  6234746 104178
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/takao-gothic/TakaoPGothic.ttf
unity8  2622 phablet  mem    REG        7,0   415552  83818
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu-font-family/Ubuntu-L.ttf
unity8  2622 phablet  mem    REG        7,0   333616  83809
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu-font-family/Ubuntu-B.ttf

Load only Takao. It seems that displayed glyphs are ok. Thanks!
